Inspiration Corporation is a non-profit organization serving Chicagoans affected by homelessness and hunger. They provide essential social services, job training and housing to over 2,500 individuals in an effort to end the problem of poverty.

As with most non-profit organizations, the key business challenges are to meet diverse communication needs of a multi-faceted organization, present a professional brand image, and trim unnecessary production costs.

UpShift was selected to work with Inspiration Corporation to meet the aforementioned business challenges. A key brand differentiator of Inspiration is the red wagon which the founder used to collect food and clothing for people in need in her neighborhood. This selfless act of care evolved into Inspiration Corporation. Therefore, we strengthened the color of red which balanced well with the photography by Steven Gross.

UpShift updated the visual identity, integrated all communications and clarified how they communicate their beneficial programs and services to donors, government officials and also those in need. UpShift also created the organization’s first ad campaign, promoting Cafe Too in various print and online media venues.

We created the logo with the stars to appear aspirational and show growth. It won an award from Logo Lounge and is part of their permanent collection of world’s best logo design.
